Dana Jay Schowe, the beloved husband of Elizabeth Alexander Schowe, and the proud father of Jennifer and Mara Schowe, passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Dana and his wife resided in Chadds Ford, PA, but spent a significant amount of time at the Schowe Heritage Farm in Indiana, and at the Alexander Camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Dana was a graduate of Purdue University, in West Lafayette, IN, where he received a BS Degree in Forestry in 1978, and, met his future bride. He grew up in Cincinnati, OH, where he attended both Colerain and Northwest High Schools. He was an athlete and a scholar: he was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as, a member of the Cross Country, Basketball and Track Teams. During his Junior and Senior years at Northwest High School, he was Captain of the Cross-Country Team and Co-Captain of the Track Team.

Upon graduation from Purdue University, he accepted employment with the Indiana Department of Forestry at Deam Lake State Recreation Area and later with West Lake Country Club in Augusta, Georgia. He joined the DuPont company as a production operator at Fayetteville Works, NC, Tralee Park, DE, and at Sabine River Works, TX. He then became a stay at home Dad, where his contributions allowed his wife flexibility in assignments at DuPont, while he encouraged his daughters, Jennifer and Mara, to excel in life. Jennifer completed her BS Degree in Marketing/Business at Middle Tennessee State University and is a manager in Tennessee. Mara is a finance major at Virginia Tech and a manager in Virginia.

Dana was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 640, in Pleasant Run, Ohio. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and achieved the rank of Life Scout. Subsequent to his time as a Scout, he became an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troup 640. In his spare time, he loved to fish and taught his daughters the same skills.

Dana is survived by his wife and daughters, as well as the following family members:

• Craig, Ryan, Shannon, and Sydney VanSluyters, his Brother-in-Law and Nephew's family, of Grand Rapids, MI
• Meg, Tom and Katie Hall, his Sister-in-Law and family, of Elkton, MD
• Nancy, Randy, Randy and Maddie Nance, his Sister-in-Law and family, of Nags Head, NC
• Ronald and Janice Schowe, his Brother and Sister-in-Law, of Chandler, AZ
• David, Lorinda, Jay and Ava Schowe, his Nephew and family, of Chandler, AZ
• Daniel and Christine Schowe, his Nephew and Daniel's Wife, of Granbury, TX
• Terry Schneiter, his Cousin, of Ohio City, OH

Dana was preceded in passing by the following family members:

• Ella Mae Harbin, his Grandmother, of Charlestown, IN

A private family gathering is being held in Hockessin, DE. A second, private family gathering is planned for New Washington, IN.
