John "Patrick" Pelegrin, age 46, of Wilmington, Delaware passed on from this life onto eternity on Saturday morning, June 3, 2017 in the loving arms of his wife, Sheri after a courageous 22 month battle with colon cancer. Pat was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to very many.

Pat was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and spent most of his life in Wilmington, Delaware. Pat graduated from Salesianum High School in 1989 and from University of Delaware with a B.A. in Business and Economics in May 1994. Pat had a successful career in Equity Management and Investment Banking for over 20 years. He worked at Chase Manhattan Bank from August 1994-1999, and then spent 15 successful years at Marvin & Palmer Associates as the Data Base Manager.

Pat was an avid sports fan. He was obsessed with the Dallas Cowboys football team. That all began when the family lived in Arlington, Texas for a time during his youth. He loved the Philadelphia Phillies. Pat was an avid runner and enjoyed playing golf. He had a passion for fantasy football and baseball. Pat also enjoyed playing "serious" poker. Pat's happiest places were watching football and the beach, always surrounded with his large circle of friends and family.

Pat is survived by his most loving supportive wife, Margaret Sheridan Pelegrin. His father Herbert Lawrence Pelegrin. His mother Elizabeth Warwick Pelegrin. His brother Cooper Pelegrin, and his wife Debbie Pelegrin and their sons; Kyle and Alex. His sister Kathleen Baffone, and her husband Marc Baffone; and their children; Anna, Luke, James and Joy. His sister Moira Stephan and her Husband Edward Stephan: and their children; Jake, Riley, Abby and Owen. He also thought of his cousin Lori Voges of Chattanooga as a sister as well. Pat and Sheri have a large network of many deep friendships that they both considered as family. All of whom will miss Pat's infectious smile, his quick and witty sense of humor, generosity, strength and courage.

The family would like to thank and commend all the Doctors and Nurses at Christiana Care, Slone -Kettering, and St Francis hospitals for supporting Pat in his fight. A very special and sincere thank you to Michelle Evans of the Visiting Nurses Association who was an angel sent by the Lord. Her love and extraordinary care for Pat will always be remembered.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Pat's life will be held on Friday June 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware 19707. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Pat's honor to colon cancer research through the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720 or to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
