She was a dedicated member of the Quincy Women's Club, enjoyed staffing the Quincy Museum gift shop, was a volunteer at Blessing Hospital, and was a faithful member of the St. Francis Solanus parish choir.

Peggy was predeceased by her husband, George Augustine McDevitt and her brothers Fr. Joseph Curtin, William Curtin (Rita), and Theodore Curtin. She is survived by her brothers James Curtin (Terry) and Larry Curtin (Lynn) and her sister-in-law Joanne Curtin. She is survived by her son Dr. Christopher J. McDevitt (Julene), her daughter Ellen McDevitt Dahl, and 3 wonderful grandchildren Dr. Joseph McDevitt (Dr. Stefany Acosta-Torres), Theresa McDevitt and Lauren McDevitt.
