Bernice I. Johnson died July 8, 2009 at Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover. She was a resident of Westminster Village in Dover, a Christian faith based non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Bernice was born in 1919 at Carney's Point, New Jersey of parents Alfred J. Johnson and Martha A. Johnson. She was a graduate of Dickinson College and studied at Beacom Business College and the Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women. She was a secretary in a variety of businesses. Bernice was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.

She is survived by her sister Doris Allebach of New Jersey; nephew Frederich C. Allebach of California; and nephew and his family Eric R. Johnson of Colorado.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday August 6, 2009 at Egglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, New Jersey.
