Geraldine R. Hope, 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 20, at the Kentmere Nursing Facility.
She was born in Upper Marlboro, MD and then lived in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late William and Marguerite Seipp. She was married to Paul C. Hope who passed away in 1992. She was a loving wife, devoted mother and fun grandmother. Geraldine was a graduate of Seton High School in Baltimore MD. She later worked as a dental assistant before marrying in 1954.
She is survived by her four children: Paul, C. Hope Jr., husband of Kathy of Wilmington, DE, Mark Hope, husband of Anne of Wilmington, DE, Celeste Marianelli, wife of David of Doylestown, PA, Kathleen Biros, wife of Robert of Newark, DE; seven grandchildren: Mark Biros, Brian Biros, Morgan Marianelli, Megan Marianelli, Mathew Hope, Molly Hope and Katie Hope. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Vincent and Charles.
Geraldine was devoted to her family and her faith. She loved playing the piano, nature, poetry, watching all sports and anything fun. She loved to laugh!
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Friday May 25, 2012 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE. Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 am on Friday morning at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Interment will follow Mass at All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ministry of Caring, 506 N. Church Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
