John Rodes Christie, age 54, of both Wilmington, DE. and Philadelphia, PA., passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

John was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of John Watson Christie, JR. and Helen Brittain Christie. He graduated from Concord High School in 1976, the University of Delaware in 1980 and earned his Law Degree from Widener University. He worked for several law firms as legal secretary and was most recently employed by the Philadelphia firm, Pepper Hamilton.

Mr. Christie's greatest recreational enjoyment was playing many types of board games, including games from 'Days of Knights" in Newark, DE. He loved Strat-O-Matic, baseball and fantasy football especially. He also enjoyed vacations at the Christie family cottages in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, where he joined family and friends for summer fun.

In addition to his parent's, he is survived by his brother's; Tom and Curtis, five nieces and nephews; Melissa, Britt, Alexander, Ruthie and Zachary, and his Aunt, Mary Brittain.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment will be private and at the convenience if the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Minster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806.
